Objectives of the Programme

The main objective of developing competence – based curricula for JR is to produce graduates who have required skills, knowledge and attitude in the tourism and hospitality industry specifically being able to:-

  1. Facilitate training in consideration of individuals learning ability and availability of time.
  2. Facilitate variety of courses that meet labour market demand.
  3. Produce trainees who will creativity, innovativeness and positive ness in towards work.
  4. Produce a graduate who will display a high sense of hygiene,    work safety and diligence
  5. Make training needs clear and specific resulting in more efficient utilization of training resources.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The minimum entry requirements to the Basic Technician Certificate programme shall be:

  1. Possession of at least four (4) passes with the exclusion of religious subjects in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalence, OR
  2. Possession of the National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III in Travel and Tourism and/or Hospitality from a recognized institution (VETA) together with a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalence.
